what they say about us

June 2014

Daniel O'Connor, CEO WarpIT

Our original T&Cs were drawn up by a law firm in 2012 but our customers could not understand the terms and they did not meet our requirements. This resulted in lots of back and forth, which was expensive and time consuming. TK Associates quickly identified the main areas of concern with our customers, redrafted all our legal documents and provided new documents for our expansion into new areas. Demonstrating flexibility and understanding, we were taken through the complex issues in a way which made them easier to understand and follow. I would recommend TK Associates for their hands on and caring approach.

March 2014

Thomas Minter, Director Malaby Biogas Ltd

We have engaged Thomlinson Kiddle Associates to provide legal advice relating to corporate structure, contracts and legislative matters. They have provided a timely as cost effective service and it has been a pleasure to work with Esther and Julie at all times. They understand our business, our industry and our needs and provide services that are clear to understand and simple to implement.

August 2013

Arthur Ready, Managing Director, Ecoganix

We recently had the good fortune to engage Julie and Esther as our legal representatives for our recent acquisition.  Together they deliver a unique blend of skills which offered an unrivalled understanding of our business, the marketplace that we work in and the contractual issues within this marketplace.  This specialist knowledge coupled with a strong contractual and general legal background always left us with the feeling that we had the A team on our side of the negotiating table.

Esther and Julie proved to be extremely professional, capable and tenacious but pragmatic in their approach, providing forward momentum to the negotiations by offering real life solutions to issues when the process was on the verge of stalling.  We are convinced that they made a major contribution to the success of the acquisition.

We have been so pleased with Thomlinson Kiddles performance in this first instance that Ecoganix has retained their services going forward, to provide us with advice and services on all legal aspects of our business from environmental law to contractual law.

Rachel Jowitt, Waste Strategy & Resources Manager, Monmouthshire County Council

TK Associates have advised me on a major contract breach and subsequent successful termination. They have also assisted the Council in helping determine its future strategy for the recycling service and continue to provide excellent advice and service on contract reviews. Their advice has always been prompt, direct and straight to the point. Risks are clearly identified and help the Council make sound and robust decisions. A truly excellent service is provided.

Patrick Dorman, Managing Director, Siac Wind Energy

In a world of lawyers who can't call a spade - a spade - without clocking up fees to debate all the other tools in the garden shed, it's refreshing to be able to rely on Esther and Julie bring their considerable legal capabilities and experience to cut through the games lawyers play and just get the job done!

November 2012

Fiona Unett and Wade Siddiqui, Acting Heads of Waste, Northamptonshire County Council

Julie Thomlinson has given practical and pragmatic advice on a variety of waste issues related to live contracts and the procurement of new contracts. She translates the law into understandable language and develops positive working relationships with clients to help them achieve their objectives.

Patrick Dorman, Managing Director, Siac Wind Energy

As a wholly owned start-up business, there has been a great deal of legal documentation and project contract advice required. There is always a balanced judgement to be made with legal support in terms of the scope of works and the stretched cash-requirements of growing a business. Esther has an ability to see things clearly from the client's perspective which gives confidence in the value provided. I particularly find that Esther can empathise between producing a legal contract document that provides adequate protection of interest straight away as opposed to an overly complex legal document that renders a contract unsaleable without iterative and costly compromise that requires further ongoing legal support. I have engaged Esther on numerous occasions and found her very professional and easy to work with. I shall continue to do so!

Rachel Jowitt, Waste Strategy & Resources Manager, Monmouthshire County Council

MCC needed a detailed and robust analysis of contract documentation and advice on a procurement strategy moving forward. Esther is one of the leading advisors on bio-waste and her advice provided MCC with a very strong business case to move forward and take a strong and effective contractual position.
The service received was prompt, timely, professional. At times questions were asked which we/I had not been prepared for, and could be uncomfortable. However they had a purpose and enabled me to define MCC's exact needs and ensure a quality product was delivered as a result.
I continue to use Esther's service on further waste procurement issues and would not hesitate to recommend her to other's needing a similar service.
